2007 Klondike Derby, Camp Guyasuta - Jan. 20, 2007
Viking patrol building a fire using flint and steel.
Indian Patrol participating at the fire building station.
Indian Patrol doing very well at the 'directions' station. One team member shouted directions to the blindfolded team member instructing him to perform a number of tasks.
Our Scouts got a demo of an old style long-rifle thanks to a local volunteer.
Teamwork exercise involving transporting a ball across pipe sections into a bucket. Success on the first try for Indian Patrol!

Viking Patrol standing together on a one foot square box with only 4 feet touching the ground.

Did everyone brush their teeth?

Note the little tree that was smashed under the fallen tree...like how we smashed the competition in the Klondike Derby.

Viking Patrol takes FIRST PLACE! Nice!

Congratulations to the Indian Patrol for an awesome job as well!

Survival Weekend - Sept. 22-24, 2006
We spent a great weekend at Seven Ranges, OH, learning tons of important survival skills from Tom Laskowski, founder of Midwest Native Skills Institute (MNSI).
Scouts built a survival 'cocoon' out of forest items lying around.
Starting a fire with a bow....just like in the movies...but this time it really works.
